Job fair comes to Yuma Civic Center Wednesday

Several workforce development agencies will be hosting the Yuma Community Job & Education Fair Wednesday Oct. 3 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Yuma Civic Center, 1440 W. Desert Hills Drive.

Local workforce development agencies have again joined forces and will sponsor a unified job & education fair to serve the Yuma community. Last year, over 120 employers, schools and resource agencies participated in this event, and this time the number is about the same.

Achieve Human Services and partnering agencies will also simultaneously host their 8th Annual DREAM Job Fair for people with disabilities D.R.E.A.M. (Disability & Rehabilitation Employment Awareness Month) is celebrated annually and this will be the fifth time they have been able to partner together to make this a meaningful event.

Many of the companies hiring at the job fair require online applications. A resource center will be available with computers for job seekers to use so applicants can apply online.

In addition, space will be provided for employers to conduct interviews at the job fair. The partnering organizations are thrilled that they can make these connections and meet the needs of both the employers and job seekers.

Employment Readiness Workshops will be held onsite. Job seekers planning to attend the job fair are encouraged to attend the workshops so that they are prepared to meet with the employers, and those who do will be eligible to win a gift card.
