It’s almost that time of year again for the 2nd Annual Golf for the Kids Charity Golf Classic, presented by the Yuma Investment Group, benefiting the Arizona’s Children Association. We hope to have more golfers sign up this year. Last year’s event brought in more than $12,000 to the Arizona’s Children Association to help local children in need. Because of the cash amounts awarded to our winners last year, we are going to have two blind draw teams play the same hole at the same time keeping track of each other’s score. The team buy-in will take place on Nov. 30 at the Yuma Golf and Country Club. The blind draw four-person scramble tournament will be the following morning with a shotgun start at 9 a.m. at the Yuma Golf and Country Club. Please submit your entry form ASAP as entries will be limited. Players may contact the YGCC for entry or additional information.

The Yuma ELK’s lodge #476 will play their 44th annual golf tournament on Oct. 27 at the Yuma Golf and Country Club. Players do not need to be an ELK’s member to play. The format is nine holes of two-man best ball and nine holes of twoman scramble. There is a 10 stroke max handicap spread between players and we will pay out both gross and net winners. We are hoping to pay the gross and net winners $1,000 each, which will depend on the number of overall players. Please let us know if you can play by Oct. 20. Players may contact Steve Schulte (928446-6869), Gary Gist (928-919-3835) or Dean Wolfe (928-246-9098) for entry or additional information.
