Overnight lane closures on Araby begin Monday

The Arizona Department of Transporta­tion advises drivers to plan for overnight lane closures on Araby Road (State Route 195) beginning Monday at 10 p.m.

Contractor­s are scheduled to sand-blast and paint an Interstate 8 barrier wall located above Araby Road. The following overnight closures are scheduled to take place:

• The southbound lane on Araby Road will be closed from 10 p.m. Monday to 5 a.m. Tuesday.

• The southbound lane on Araby Road will be closed from 10 p.m. Tuesday to 5 a.m. Wednesday.

•The northbound lane on Araby Road will be closed from 10 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 24, to 5 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 25.

The northbound lane on Araby Road will be closed from 10 p.m. Thursday to 5 a.m. Friday.

Delays are likely, so travelers should allow extra travel time. Alternate routes include Avenue 8 1/2 E, Avenue 3E and 32nd Street.

Drivers should slow down, obey posted speed limits and traffic control devices, and use caution around constructi­on personnel and equipment.
