Million Air expands fuel farm with two additional 30K-gallon tanks
Million Air Yuma, located at 3681 S. Burch Way, has expanded its fuel farm with two additional 30,000 gallon fuel tanks. Each tank filled weighs more than 119 tons and the fuel is enough for an average car to drive 450,000 miles or circle the Earth 18 times.
The first tank was installed Jan. 29 and the second will be installed on Feb. 2. Yuma’s “fabulous” flying weather attracts aviators from around the globe, be it military, corporate or private pilots.
“Aircraft drink up a lot of fuel, and it’s important to have plenty on hand to support them all,” Yuma International Airport said in a Facebook post.
Million Air Yuma holds the lease as the fixed-based operator at the airport and is the fuel provider. It was recently named Fixed Based Operator of the Year for its service and dedication to the aviation industry.
Freeman Holdings is the franchisee, and James Combs is the general manager. Million Air joined the airport in 2010 and invested $2.5 million in the facility, including the renovation of a 1950s-era hangar, which it turned into its headquarters.
Customers include both domestic and foreign military and military contractors, aside from providing fuel and service to corporate and private aircraft. Reach Million Air Yuma at 928-247-9571.
