Somerton police responded to a series of three shootings that happened minutes apart on Friday night, one of which left a woman injured by shattered glass from a windshield struck by gunfire.

According to Somerton police, the first incident happened at approximately 10:17 p.m. when officers were dispatched to the 100 block of East Cano Street for reports of shots being fired in the area behind a Circle K convenience store.

When officers arrived on scene, they were able to locate evidence and interviewed a female victim who stated that her vehicle had been shot at while she was driving in the area. The shots were fired from a vehicle that was driving by.

The second incident happened just two minutes later, at about 10:19 p.m., with another female victim reporting that her car had been shot at while she was driving in the area near Main Street Park. As in the previous shooting, the shots were fired from a vehicle driving by.

The woman was injured in the incident, having been hit by glass shards from her windshield after it was struck by at least one bullet.

The final shooting occurred at approximately 10:29 p.m., with a female caller reporting that her house has been shot at. Once on scene, officers found evidence that her home in the 100 block of East Spring Street had been shot at multiple times.

She, too, reported that the shots had been fired from a car that had been passing by.

Currently there is no one in custody in the shootings, and all of the shootings are being investigated.

Victims are providing different descriptions of the suspected vehicle, so no information about it has been released yet.
