Business Glance
The Better Business Bureau will be holding a free “Success in 60” seminar with the theme “Your Business Beyond Your Industry” at 9 a.m. Wednesday at the Goodwill Career Center, 3097 S. 8th Ave.
Many businesses have started because of a particular skill set or passion for that industry. But what often separates a good business from a successful business are aspects of payroll, bookkeeping, legal standing, as well as identifying what types of marketing to do and when it’s most effective.
During the one-hour presentation, presenters Dave Cline of Classic Accounting and Jon Perry of Print Zoom and Imaginary Friends Design Studios will discuss these strategies and more so business owners can better position their business for success.
Register for the seminar at www.eventbrite.com. For more information, call 928-919-7940.

AEA honored with workplace excellence award
AEA Federal Credit Union, based in Yuma and La Paz counties, has received the “Award for Workplace Excellence” from Peter Barron Stark Companies. The award is based on the results of the PBS 2019 Employee Opinion Survey of AEA employees.
The honor is awarded to exceptional organizations committed to a culture of workplace excellence and is limited to those that achieve an overall favorable response exceeding 80% on their survey. AEA joins other outstanding organizations who have received this honor.
The award recognizes workplace excellence based solely on actual employee feedback regarding a broad range of customized engagement and workplace factors. The survey process provides employees with an efficient way to provide feedback that is heard at all levels of the organization.
“Organizations who receive this award are focused on creating a culture of workplace excellence and see significant improvement not only in their organizational results but in the number of engaged employees as well,” said Peter Stark, president of Peter Barron Stark Companies. “We are thrilled to recognize the AEA Federal Credit Union leadership team in their dedication to growing an organization that values and appreciates its employee resources.”
Upon receiving the award, Adele Sandberg, AEA president and CEO of AEA said, “It is our goal to create an environment where employees love to come to work and feel valued. Receiving this award validates that we have a strong team comprised of exceptional employees committed to achieving high levels of performance.”
BERLIN — The International Air Transport Association says passenger traffic grew by a “solid” 5% in June compared with the same month last year, despite the impact of U.S.China trade tensions.
The airline industry group said Thursday that June also saw a record load factor, a gauge of the percentage of seats filled per flight, for the month of 84.4%.
The lowest passenger growth was seen in North America, where carriers recorded increased demand of 3.5%. Geneva-based IATA said the modest increase reflects U.S.-China trade tensions, which have also affected air travel in the Asia region.
Airline traffic has been rising steadily in recent years, fueling calls for measures to curb its growing share of global greenhouse gas emissions.
