The Imperial County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a 43-yearold Somerton man for allegedly inappropriately touching a sixyear-old female student at San Pasqual Elementary School, where he worked as a custodian.

According to information released by the San Pasqual Valley Unified School District, on Wednesday it was notified by the mother of a student that her child had been the victim of inappropriate touching by a district employee.

The mother was able to provide basic information, but was not able to identify the employee in question. The school district immediately reported the allegation to the ICSO, which began an investigation.

The investigation led to the arrest on Thursday of Angel Torres-Carreon, who is a custodian at the school in Winterhaven.

Torres-Carreon is being held at the Imperial County jail on $150,000 bond for allegations of lewd acts against a minor child under 14 by force or fear.

The case has been forwarded to the District Attorney’s Office for review and prosecution.

No other victims have been identified, and the San Pasqual Valley Unified School District will not be releasing any further information until all investigations into the incident are complete. Anyone with any information regarding this incident is asked to contact the Imperial County Sheriff’s Investigations Unit at 442-265-2045 or submit a tip online at youandblue.org.
