• Trespass – 50 Our Animal Control Unit responded to 264 calls for service and our officers made 353 traffic stops, issuing over 111 citations. Here is a sample of our calls... This guy, let’s call him Jay, decided to partake in some alcoholic beverage-consuming at a local bar and drive. Around this same time, two unsuspecting guys who were trying to jump a broke-down car on the side of the road became victims of Jay’s poor decision. Jay clipped one guy standing by his vehicle before colliding with one of the stopped vehicles. Jay’s slurred speech and tipsy swagger stood out to the officers. He was processed for driving under the influence. Orange jammies and flip-flops were issued and off to bed he went.

This guy, let’s call him Stan, decided to shoplift from a local store. Stan picked out several items and placed them in his backpack. We were called and two of our officers stood at different exit points to catch Stan as he left the store. When officers saw Stan, they ran toward him as a patrol vehicle was pulling up. Stan took off running and the cardio workout began through the parking lot toward an apartment complex. Fun times for all as other officers joined in the “fun run” trying to catch Stan. While running through the complex, a few of our officers had civilians join them like they were Forrest Gump running across the country. Officers and civilians zigzagged through the complex and Stan was finally taken. He was nabbed by one of the volunteer runners and held down until an officer put cuffs on him. Stan was fitted with orange jammies. Thank you to all who assisted our officers that day.

This guy, let’s call him Myron, decided to break into a vehicle and attempted to steal it. We had a call reference a male subject snooping around a vehicle and attempting to open the door. The first officer arrived and like a ghost in the night was able to set up and watch Myron as he entered the vehicle. When back up arrived in the same stealth manner, they were also able to set up and surprise the bejesus out of Myron. Myron was caught with tools that helped him break into the vehicle and it appeared that he was trying to mess with the ignition. Jammies for Myron.
