Prison Hill named Retailer of the Year
Prison Hill Brewing Company, located at 278 S. Main St., has been named Retailer of the Year for Arizona Legislative District 4 by the Arizona Retailers Association, which presented 17 recipients with the honor at the 2019 ARA Annual Awards Luncheon on Oct. 18.
Rep. Charlene Fernandez presented the ARA Retailer of the Year Award to Chris Wheeler, Lauren Reilly and Heaven Young of Prison Hill Brewing.
State legislators are given the opportunity to nominate a retailer in their legislative district for this award based on their business acumen along with their community service and involvement.
Fernandez explained why she chose Prison Hill for the honor: “This year Prison Hill Brewing Company crafted a new beer called Hazy Krizayzy. All proceeds of the sale of this beer were donated to the Atticus Kindness Project. Every penny went to a program to fund toddler swim safety in Yuma.
“Not only does Prison Hill contribute to the community, but they offer excellent beverage and food along with novelty items for sale such as T-shirts and caps,” she added.
Fernandez and 18 other legislators, participated in the event to recognize the value of small businesses in Arizona.
ARA noted in a news release that the organization is pleased to publicly acknowledge the impact of these retailers and reward them for their efforts. “After all the fears and all the have-to-do’s that keep retailers up at night, we are happy to celebrate their accomplishments.
Chris, Lauren and Heaven along with 16 other passionate, hardworking retailers were recognized for their excellence.”
The ARA is a membership organization representing both independently owned retail businesses as well as national chain stores throughout Arizona.
