Laurie Doering honored
Laurie Doering, Crane Elementary School District superintendent, was recently presented with the Fire Marshal “Challenge Coin,” by City of Yuma Fire Department Kayla Franklin (not shown), fire marshal; and Mike Erfert, public information officer. Franklin and Erfert led a full day of training to Crane’s executive and senior management teams about public information awareness.
Concluding the training session, Franklin and Erfert recognized Doering for her continued collaboration and thought leader initiatives to keep safety and security a top priority across Crane School District. “It was presented as a token of appreciation for the support and dedication Crane School District has shown for emergency planning and preparedness,” said Erfert.
Crane School District has taken a multi-channel approach to increase and enhance the safety and security systems and infrastructures across the district’s landscape.
Crane School District would like to give a special thank you to City of Yuma Fire Department and City of Yuma Police Department for their continued support, collaboration and added value in driving the district’s decision-making process. “It is so wonderful to partner with local experts in the field of safety and security,” said Superintendent Doering. “The Fire Marshal “Challenge Coin” is a representation and honor to the entire Crane School District family; I am continually amazed by our staff’s dedication, passion and willingness to learn, grow and improve our learning environments.”
Connor Young
Connor Young, of Yuma, a doctor of pharmacy student in Philadelphia College of Pharmacy at University of the Sciences, received a white coat at a recent ceremony. The white coat ceremony is an annual rite of passage for students in their first professional year (third year) of USciences’ six-year pharmacy program and symbolizes their dedication to the profession of pharmacy and to the care of others.
Young continues on the path to receiving a doctor of pharmacy degree. Donning their white coats, the more than 110 student pharmacists recited the Oath of a Pharmacist, a gesture to reinforce their commitment to working with patients compassionately and to enhancing their health and well-being.
