The Yuma Fire Department responded to 268 emergency calls for service:
• 9 General Fire Response
Including: 1 for an exploding water heater, 1 for a sandwich vending machine on fire in a convenience store, 1 for a strong odor of ammonia, 1 for a sparking power line on a house, 1 for a cooking fire, 1 for a motorcycle on fire at gas pumps, 1 for gas leaking from line hit by construction crew , and various alarms
• 19 Motor Vehicle Crashes
Including: 1 involving a building, 1 involving a motorcycle, 2 involving pedestrians, 1 involving 4 vehicles, 1 head-on crash, and 1 involving a pole
• 221 Other Medical Emergencies (serious to minor)
Including: 19 for difficulty breathing, 28 for chest pain, 28 for falls, 13 for unconscious people, 19 seizure cases, 3 possible stroke cases, 4 for intoxicated persons, 2 for people under the influence of drugs, 2 drug overdose cases, 17 for people with psychiatric problems, 4 for medical alarms, 2 for children locked in vehicles, 1 allergic reaction, 3 for choking, 10 for altered or decreased level of consciousness, 1 for a diabetic emergency, 5 for man down calls, 1 for burns to hands and face from using a lighter while on oxygen, 1 for an assault, 7 for back pain, 5 for abdominal pain, 2 for lacerations, 1 for a 3 year old with a Lego piece stuck up their nose, and other illnesses and injuries
• 19 Special Duty, Public Assistance, and Residential Assignments
Including: 1 for a snake removal, 1 for a small fire on the roof of a building, 2 small brush fires, 1 dumpster fire, 1 trash can fire, and various alarms.
