Pen-pricks

- BY ARGUS HAMILTON FRED RICHARD MARY ANN EASTERDAY

• The Navy launched its newest aircraft carrier the USS Gerald Ford, who was the last president everyone liked. On the golf course, he was the most dangerous driver since Ben-Hur. Once the USS Gerald Ford made it out into the open sea, the first thing it did was to pardon the USS Richard Nixon.

• House Democrats drew up impeachment articles, raising tensions. A Florida man was accused of slugging his girlfriend in an argument over impeachment. If two people can’t have a civil discussion about President Trump in a Florida trailer park, what is this world coming to?

• The House Judiciary Committee wrote two charges of impeachment including Obstruction of Congress and Abuse of Power. This presents a question. If Congress charges someone with Obstruction of Congress, doesn’t Congress have to prove it was doing something?

What do you call the chicken that crosses the road, jumps in a mud puddle, and then crosses back over the road? “A dirty double crosser” ..... If you google “double crosser,” you find: a person who says one thing and does another. Synonyms: betrayer, double dealer, traitor, two timer. Someone who betrays under the guise of friendship. Judas was a double crosser.

On the other side of the coin, google “double dealer,” and you find basically the same thing. A person who says one thing and does another, double crosser, etc. The informal meaning of rat: a “hateful person”, “liar” or “double crosser.”

Some lying, double-crossing rats use “smoke and mirrors” to deceive. Smoke and Mirrors: “the obscuring or embellishing of the truth of a situation with misleading or irrelevant information.”

Some lying, double crossing rats use devious smoke and mirrors to reach the outcome they’re seeking. De-vi-ous: adjective: showing a skillful use of underhanded tactics to achieve goals. (”he’s as devious as a politician needs to be.”)

So with all this, he said, you said, you did, he did bickering, the biggest question we have to ask ourselves is, who’s throwing the most fertilizer? Our honorable elected politicians, or, our trustworthy notable news media outlets? The reality of all this is, “someone is, in fact, lying.” Maybe the word lying is a little harsh. So maybe, “someone is, in fact, bias.” The problem is, in this time and age we’re in, we’ll never find out.

If Wimpy didn’t pay for the burger he got on Monday, on Tuesday, like he said he would, then he is in fact a “devious, lying, double crossing, dirty rat.” No one will ever know if he paid or not. Ever.

I was disturbed to read the article recently in the Yuma Sun regarding DPS Chief Frank Milstead and the preferential treatment he received by the Yavapai County Sheriff

As a citizen of Yuma there are times I like to go to the city council meetings and talk at the call to the public. I fill out a form on the topic and give my name, address and phone number. When I address the council, I am required to give my address. I do not think it is right for this information to be on the form. I was told it has always been this way, however, we never used to lock our doors. In the safety of the citizen, giving your address should not be required.

City council needs to change this policy.
