I-8 lane restrictions near Dateland begin on Monday
The Arizona Department of Transportation is advising Yuma motorists to plan ahead for alternating lane restrictions on Interstate 8 near Dateland beginning Monday. Drivers should also expect delays and allow extra travel time.
Contractors are scheduled to apply asphalt to preserver and seal pavement, stripe the roadway and do related work as part of the pavement preservation project between mileposts 46 and 66 (Dateland exit).
The following restrictions will occur from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays and Fridays from 6 a.m. to 12 p.m., and is expected to end by Oct. 31.
Interstate-8 will be narrowed to one lane in both directions between mileposts 46 and 66.
Motorists should anticipate a 4-mile lane restriction while crews progress through the work zone.
The speed limit will be reduced to 45 mph.
Flaggers will direct motorists through the work zone.
A 12-foot vehicle width restriction will be in place.
ADOT reminds drivers to obey posted speed limits and traffic control devices and use caution around construction personnel and equipment. Learn more on the project webpage: https://azdot.gov/projects/ southwest-district-projects/interstate-8-pavementpreservation-project-between-milepost-46
