• The New York Times alleged that John Bolton’s new book claims that Trump wanted to withhold aid from Ukraine unless they investigated corruption. That doesn’t make it a crime. John Bolton’s book may not sell that well, but it’s already made the New York Times Best Sellout List.

• Chief Justice John Roberts oversaw the Senate impeachment trial whose conclusion could lead to healing. Hopefully, the House Democrats are completing the five stages of grief. They are grief, anger, denial, impeachment, and finally acceptance of the results of the 2016 election.

• CNN legal analyst Jeffrey Toobin pointed out to CNN viewers that all the members of the Trump impeachment legal defense team were white people. It’s an alarm that needed sounding. Looking at them, you realized that at any moment a Democratic presidential debate could’ve broken out.

Mr. Chandler’s letter to the editor made me choke on my Cheerios again! Trump on Mt. Rushmore will never, ever, ever happen. As for “sludge and waste” elimination, what source do you site that 30% of government is waste? Fact checking is so easy with a simple Google search.

Trump used “drain the swamp” as one of his steps. Well he is certainly accomplishing that. The turnover rate of his “A” team (high level staff and cabinet members) is 80% as of December 2019. I believe that who’s running scared are Trump’s highlevel supporters. Mueller’s team has indicted 34 individuals and 3 Russian businesses. The indictments have led to 7 guilty pleas and 5 people sentenced to prison.

As to being out of money and up to our eyeballs in debt, another Google search has revealed that the current budget deficit has increased every year since Trump took office and is at the highest it has ever been. The budget debt now stands at $22 trillion. And what do we hear from the “fiscally conservative” Republicans...crickets.

Ah yes the lawyers! Trump has a lot of experience with them. He has been sued in federal court multiple times since taking office. He will never push for a law that makes the loser pay for all expenses. He’d be penniless not to mention the taxpayers to defend him.

As for term limits, we already have them. It’s called voting and being informed to make the right

My opinion on the guest column re: the two baseball players.

What an incredible shame that this subject even had to be written about. It isn’t the brightest star in American history. My opinion… back when the ‘founding fathers’ were writing the Constitution and wrote about ‘all men were created equal,’ what did these old, white, rich, slave-owning (except for one) MEN really mean?

They certainly DIDN’T mean women or they, the women, would have had the vote, too.

They certainly didn’t mean poor men. They definitely didn’t mean black men and women because nothing in the Constitution pertained to them at all concerning their rights as human beings and citizens of the United States. Women and black people were not considered ‘persons.’ All equal under the law, NOT. The racism in this country, I believe, was built into your Constitution. This perception of ‘other’ seems/appears to be passed down from generation to generation. As long as there are members of your population who believe they are superior to those who don’t look like themselves, racism will exist.
