Kingman man arrested in fatal shooting in Mohave County

KINGMAN — A suspect has been arrested in connection with a shooting in northweste­rn Arizona early Monday that’s being investigat­ed as a homicide, authoritie­s said.

Mohave County Sheriff’s officials said deputies responded to a Kingman home around 5 a.m. on reports of gunshots in the area.

They found a man dead in the roadway with gunshot wounds to the head, neck and face.

A shotgun and three spent shotgun shells were located near the victim’s body.

Deputies said 33-year-old Christophe­r Robin Kacos of Kingman was detained at the scene.

They said Kacos allegedly admitted his involvemen­t in the shooting and was booked into the county jail on suspicion of seconddegr­ee murder.

10-year-old Phoenix boy hit by gunfire in drive-by shooting

PHOENIX — Phoenix police are searching for the person responsibl­e for critically injuring a 10-year-old boy in a drive-by shooting.

Authoritie­s say the shooting happened at an apartment complex near 19th and Peoria avenues around 6:30 a.m. Monday. A man and his son were standing outside when a car approached and someone fired three rounds at them.

One bullet hit the boy. The father was not injured.

Paramedics took the boy to the hospital with lifethreat­ening injuries. His condition was not immediatel­y known.

Police have not identified a suspect. The father told investigat­ors he had no idea who shot at them.
