Chris Coolman

Chris Coolman, library assistant I with youth services at the Foothills Library, has been chosen as the Yuma County Library District’s employee of the month for April. This award recognizes an employee that inspires with their effort and attitude.

Coolman received a mounted certificate, a nameplate in the book of his choice, an employee of the month pin, and his photo was hung at the Foothills Library during the month of April.

Rosa Agundez

Rosa Agundez, custodian for the Main Library, has been chosen as the Yuma County Library District’s employee of the month for May. This award recognizes an employee that inspires with their effort and attitude.

Agundez received a mounted certificate, a nameplate in the book of her choice, an employee of the month pin, and her photo will be hung at the Main Library during the month of May.

Regina D. Peterson-Owen

Yuma native and Kofa King alumni, Regina D. PetersonOwen was recently promoted to Lieutenant Colonel with the U.S. Air Force. Her new official title reads, Lt. Col. Regina D. Peterson-Owen, DNP, PMHNPBC, assistant professor. She is currently stationed at the Uniformed Services University in Bethesda, Md., and is an assistant professor at the Graduate School of Nursing.

During her past 15 years of service,

Lt. Col. Peterson-Owen has obtained a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in nursing from University of Texas and a doctoral degree in nursing practice from the University of Alabama. Through her military career, she has also obtained basic combat training, advanced individual training, primary leadership development course, and air command and staff college.

Lt. Col. Owens decorations and awards earned include Meritorious Service Medal Joint Service Commendation Medal, Air Force Commendation Medal, Air Force Achievement Medal, Army Achievement Medal, AF Outstanding Unit Award, National Defense Service Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, AF Overseas Ribbon Short, Air Force Expeditionary Service Ribbon with Gold Border, AF Longevity Service, Armed Forces Reserve Medal and AF Training Ribbon.
