REDS 9, Pirates 4 (7), 2nd game: Mike Moustakas hit a big three-run homer in the fifth inning, and the Reds beat the Pirates 9-4 on Monday night for a doubleheader sweep. Moustakas drove in Shogo Akiyama and Eugenio Suárez with a two-out shot to center off Nik Turley (0-2).

MARLINS 6, Phillies 2: Pablo Lopez allowed one run in seven innings with the help of flashy defense by right fielder Matt Joyce, and the Marlins won Game 7 of their marathon series against Philadelphia on Monday, 6-2. The series, the majors’ longest in the regular season in 53 years, included three makeup games and two doubleheaders.

BREWERS 2, Cardinals 1 (8), 1st game: Keston Hiura hit a sacrifice fly to score Avisail Garcia with the winning run in the eighth inning as the Brewers rallied to edge the Cardinals 2-1 in the opening game of a doubleheader Monday. The Cardinals broke a scoreless tie in the top of the eighth when Tommy Edman’s two-out single up the middle off Freddy Peralta brought home Tyler O’Neill.

MARINERS 6, Athletics 5 (7), 1st game; Athletics 9, MARINERS 0 (7), 2nd game: Mike Minor tossed a two-hitter with eight strikeouts, Jake Lamb doubled and homered in his first game after signing with Oakland, and the Athletics beat the Mariners 9-0 in the nightcap of their doubleheader on Monday. Seattle won the opener 6-5, rallying from a 5-0 deficit and scoring twice in the sixth inning with two outs.

ORIOLES 14, Braves 1: DJ Stewart hit the first of three Baltimore homers in a nine-run third inning, and the Orioles pounded the Atlanta Braves 14-1 Monday night to end a five-game losing streak. After winning three of four in Washington to extend their NL East lead to a season-high 31/2 games, the Braves were handed their most lopsided defeat of the year.

Twins at WHITE SOX, late: The White Sox are 22-10 against AL Central teams. Chicago has slugged .474, the best mark in the American League. The Twins are 20-14 against teams from the AL Central. The Minnesota pitching staff owns a combined team ERA of 3.67.

Dodgers at PADRES, late: The Padres are 20-13 against the rest of their division. San Diego’s team on-base percentage of .340 is third in the MLB. The Dodgers are 22-11 against the rest of their division. Los Angeles has hit a leagueleading 90 home runs this season.
