Being Cool is Essential

Quick is expanding services and paying it forward

-

Cooling and Heating Yuma since 1955, Quick Refrigeration is Yuma’s best air conditioning company year after year. Quick Refrigeration is family owned and operated with four generations of keeping Yuma cool.

Quick Refrigeration has a long history of keeping Yuma cool. “My father started the company in 1955,” said Frank Gilmore, owner of Quick Refrigeration. “He started by offering 24-hour service, seven days a week for friends, family, and neighbors. We’re happy to carry on the tradition, and to this day we’re still available 24 hours a day for emergency services.”

In addition to winning Yuma’s Best HVAC Company, Quick Refrigeration is thrilled to announce they have also won 2nd place for Yuma’s Best Plumbing Company. The company has been expanding its services over the past five years and has recently begun offering plumbing services for its customers.

This year, Quick Refrigeration helped those in need through it’s “Quick will pay your mortgage contest.” Quick selected two recipients and the company paid the winner’s monthly mortgage payment.

“We really wanted to do something to help those who have been affected by the pandemic” Jimmy Gilmore, Co-owner of Quick Refrigeration said. “So we decided to start paying people’s mortgages!”

Quick Refrigeration was set to celebrate its 65th anniversary this year with large celebrations, and promotions. However Covid changed Quick’s plans in an instant. “Our team went from planning a celebration to planning how to keep our customers and employees safe while the rest of the state and country was shutting down,” Gilmore said.

During that time, management and employees were uncertain if the company would have to temporarily close its doors due to the pandemic. Ultimately essential businesses like Quick Refrigeration remained open.

“We stayed open and went to work, making sure we would have plenty of our air purification products in stock and personal protection gear for our employees and even for our customers,” Gilmore said.

For more than two decades,

Quick Refrigeration has offered air purification services and has a division dedicated to duct cleaning, duct sanitation and indoor air quality. These services are ideal for homes, offices, churches, schools and medical facilities, especially in the fight against air borne illness.

With the pandemic individuals and families are spending more time indoors and now understand that indoor air quality plays a major role in one’s health and wellness. “During the pandemic we have seen an exponential increase in individuals wanting to improve air quality in their home.”

Early on Quick Refrigeration secured a steady supply of air purification devices to ensure local availability for its customers.

The air purifiers can be installed in a building’s existing HVAC system. They are 99% effective in killing airborne viruses and viruses on surface areas.

According to a university study, one device eliminated 80% of tested viruses from surfaces within two hours, and 99% eliminated within 24 hours.

Throughout this pandemic another popular service has been Quicks duct cleaning and duct sanitization on the full HVAC system. “During the duct cleaning we use a negative air machine and specialized tools to remove dirt, dust, and debris from your duct work,” Gilmore said. “After that we use an EPA registered disinfectant to fog the system which eliminates 99% of viruses and bacteria.”

Quick takes a very active role in the Yuma community. From sponsoring many local groups to donating air conditioners to those in need, Quick is dedicated to giving back. From certified technicians to comprehensive services, Quick strives for 100% customer satisfaction.

Quick has been recognized as one of the fastest growing Trane dealers in the United States.

“Quick Refrigeration wants to thank all of their amazing hard working team members and customers who have helped make us one of Yuma’s Best!” Frank Gilmore said.

“No one in Yuma thinks about their roof until it starts to rain.”

For over 70 years, Yuma has allowed Lines and Lundgreen Roofing and Insulation to protect their homes and their families against the elements. Using the latest technology and only the finest materials on the market, “Yuma’s Best” Roofing Company maintains the highest ethics, integrity and craftsmanship and those qualities are guaranteed.

In 1945, Wilton Lines was honorably discharged from the

Navy and was encouraged to come to Yuma to help Johnny Butler at

Butler Construction. At that time, there was not a roofing compant in Yuma, so, much of their work was delayed waiting for roofers to come from from Phoenix to finish their projects So, Wilton Lines left town, came back the next day with a tar kettle, and Yuma had its first roofers. Wilton bought the company from Johnny Butler

“For over 65 years, you’ve allowed us to protect you and your homes here in the desert southwest.”

Wilton’s son, John Lines and his son–in–law Steve Lundgreen took out some loans and bought the business in 1981 and changed the name to Lines and Lundgreen Roofing and Insulation. Currently, these families continue to service residential and commercial customers with roofing and insulation products and services. As time has passed, they have added other specialties such as acoustical ceilings, vacuum systems and skylights Yuma’s best roofer is also expert at small jobs and prides itself with “Pricing for the working man.”

Currently, the leaders of Lines and Lundgreen are also strong civic leaders, further proving they are “United for Yuma”. They lead the Southwest Contractors Association, Yuma County Board of Supervisors, Chairman of Yuma Community Food Bank, Boy Scout Leaders, Caballeros de Yuma, Rotary Clubs and more.

They take pride in the responsibility of being one of Yuma’s oldest family-run businesses. For a free quote on a roof, roof repair, insulation or skylights, please call them at

The Creative Services team at the Yuma Sun believes that every project deserves a little extra TLC, whether it’s the smallest of ads or the biggest of special sections.

That extra heart and soul has earned the team the privilege of being one of Yuma’s Best Marketing and Design Services once again, thanks to the passion and dedication of members

Sue Cannon, Cassandra Highers,

Jim Foster and Colleen Pedroza.

Creative Services is the engine that turns customers’ visions into reality. A client brings ideas to the table of what they would like to see, and Creative Services takes those ideas, smoothes out the edges, and brings them to fruition.

The team is part of the backbone of the Yuma Sun, and yet their role is very much behind the scenes.

They design and build some of our best projects, including Visiting in Yuma, BIZ Magazine, Raising Yuma Families, Health Connections, and Bajo el Sol.

They also build and design a variety of commercial print projects for outside customers, such as the Yuma County Chamber of Commerce Directory, the Yuma Southwest Contractors Association Directory, and The Outpost at Yuma Proving Ground.

Their work isn’t limited to magazines and newspapers, however. The team also designs and builds maps, such as the Bike Map and an area map for visitors.

As the Yuma Sun family grew in 2016 with the addition of a sister paper, the Palo Verde Valley Times, so too did Creative Services’ project list, adding the Palo Verde Valley Times newspaper and special sections like the Quartzsite Nugget.

And in between? The team builds advertisements for clients and customers across the Desert Southwest, helping turn ideas into sales.

Their efforts are often recognized by their peers in the Arizona Newspapers Association, where the Creative Services team frequently wins awards and honors for their hard work.

For our team, Creative Services isn’t a department – it’s a mindset, and one they happily embrace.
