GOING ON: Students at Arizona Western College will participate in the celebration to express their appreciation to the community for its support. The event will highlight the history of TRIO as well as alumni speakers. For millions of low-income students who strive to be the first in their families to attend and graduate from college, a set of federally funded TRIO programs have made a world of difference in their lives – including here in Yuma County.

Friday Feb. 26 VIRTUAL BBQ AND BREW FESTIVAL
WHEN: 4 p.m.

It will feature local barbecue and restaurant chefs and interviews with local brewers. A head-to-head cooking challenge will pit Mayor Douglas Nicholls and Yuma County Supervisor Jonathan Lines against local restaurant
Holy Smokes, with performances from bands Downtime and Bobby McClendon. There will also be a special appearance by celebrity chef Phillip Dell, a “Chopped” champion.

Saturday March 20 HELPING OUR HEROS
WHEN: Sign in from 10-11 a.m., last bike in at 2:30 p.m.

GOING ON: The American Legion Post 19 Riders are hosting a ride.
All proceeds go toward helping local veterans. Cost includes a meal, 50/50 Draw, grand prize and a raffle.
COST: $15 for a single rider, $25 per couple.
