GOING ON The Gloria de Cristo Youth Group is having a book sale, with proceeds going to funding their 2022 National ELCA Youth gathering in Minnesota.

Saturday March 20 KWANAMII SPIRIT RUN

WHEN: Registrati­on starts at 8 a.m., run/walk begins at 8:30 a.m.

WHERE: The event will start at the Quechan Tribal Office, 350 Picacho Road in Winterhave­n, to the Quechan Community Center, 604 Picacho Road. GOING ON: The Kwanamii Spirit Run is a run/walk to protect Indian Pass from gold mining, and honors the resilient pride of the Quechan People.

MEET THE AUTHOR

WHEN: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

WHERE: Hands Extended Thrift Store, 13341 S. Frontage Road

GOING ON: Pinkie Paranya, local author, will sign her books at the thrift store, and debut her new hardback book at the event.

HELPING OUR HEROES

WHEN: Sign in from 10-11 a.m., last bike in at 2:30 p.m.

WHERE: Ride starts at 2575 S. Virginia Ave.

GOING ON: The American Legion

Post 19 Riders are hosting a ride.

All proceeds go toward helping local veterans. Cost includes a meal, 50/50 Draw, grand prize and a raffle.

COST: $15 for a single rider, $25 per couple.
