Sir John Latelle Rummel

December 21, 1928 John was born at home in Bayfield, Wisconsin to Latelle C. Rummel and Erma C. Horn. 1947 He graduated Wausau High School with an Agrade point average in Wausau, Wisconsin. 1948 - 1949 John joined the Naval Reserve and was a member of ROTC while attending the University of Wisconsin. 1950 - 1956 He volunteere­d for the US Navy, serving aboard USS Bexar in Korean Waters.

1956 John received an Honorable Discharge from US Navy.

1960 He became a life member of Theta Chi Fraternity. 1961 John graduated in Business Administra­tion from University of Puget Sound, Tacoma, Washington.

1975 He purchased Custom Boot Store (Orthepedic Shoes) in Tacoma, Washington, selling and retiring in 1990.

1987 John had a Cerebral Hemorrhage and a portion of his brain removed. John worked hard and recovered mobility.

1992 - 2021 John retired and lived in Yuma, Arizona, traveling through the United States and Europe.

1995 American Legion Member

March 27, 2021 John passed away at St. Joseph Hospital, Phoenix, Arizona after being air lifted from Yuma Regional Medical Center, Yuma, Arizona.

John was proceeded in death by his parents and sister, Helen Hlebichuk.

He is survived by his brother's,

Gene (Barbara) Rummel, Oregon and James Rummel, Arizona plus Niece and Nephews, Great Nieces and Nephews and Great Grand Nephews.

John's family wish to thank Dr. Casey Noroyan, DO, and the Nurses of the Emergency Department at Yuma Regional Medical Center, Yuma, Arizona and the Nurses of the Trauma Center at St. Joseph Hospital, Phoenix, Arizona for their Outstandin­g care of John. A very special Thank You goes to an Outstandin­g Geriatrics Doctor, Dorothy Wong, MD, Yuma, Arizona, for her years of caring for and patience with John.
