GOING ON: A film series presented by Arizona Western College. This month’s film is Corpus Christi, a 2019 Polish drama with English subtitles. The movie is 116 minutes. COST: $5, or $2.50 for AWC/NAU students with ID

Friday Dec. 3 CHRISTMAS TREE LIGHTING

WHEN: 6 p.m.

WHERE: Downtown Main Street in Yuma

GOING ON: Hosted by the city of Yuma, the Yuma Fire Department will rescue Santa from the top of the Yuma Art Center. Visit the jolly man himself, Santa, and enjoy your picture with him and musical performanc­es.

Saturday Dec. 4 18TH RACHEL DETERMAN MEMORIAL RIB COOK OFF

WHERE: Yuma Catholic High School athletic fields, 2100 W. 28th St. GOING ON: The community is invited to enjoy ribs, side dishes, corn, tortillas and ice cream in a fun-filled day with food, music and vintage cars.

ARIZONA CLASSICAL BALLET’S THE NUTCRACKER

Saturday Dec. 11 DOROTHY YOUNG MEMORIAL ELECTRIC LIGHT PARADE

WHEN: 6 p.m.

WHERE: The parade kicks off on 4th Avenue and winds its way through downtown Yuma, ending on Main Street.

GOING ON: Spectators line the parade route to view the lighted creations as the parade marches by. This year’s theme is “Favorite Holiday Traditions.”

GOING ON: Art Paths at Coyote Wash is hosted by members of the local art guild at their homes. All arts and crafts will be displayed outdoors. There will be a raffle and prize drawing at the end of the event. This is a free open air event that will take you through a path of various local artists homes who will showcase their work and answer any of your questions.
