Mary Jane Parry known by her friends and family as Janie passed away on November 25, 2021 in Yuma, AZ. She was 73 years young. Born on December 23, 1947 in Henderson, NV to parents Art and Lena Hurt.

Janie married Douglas

Parry on June 12, 1976.

She graduated from UNLV with a B.S. Degree in Elementary Education.

She taught 3rd grade in Las Vegas until she moved to Yuma in 1986. She taught the Gifted Program at Rolle Elementary School and later taught at Gila Vista Junior High. She also spent many hours helping out at Villa Alameda RV Resort.

She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints where she very much loved her church.

Janie faced many medical trials throughout her life, but was always willing to set aside her own problems to help others.

Janie loved life and always had a positive attitude. She would always say quit worrying about yourself and go out and help someone less fortunate than you.

She loved going to the beach each year, camping and RVing and going to baseball games. She loved bowling, going for rides and most of all being with family, friends and grand kids.

She is survived by her spouse Douglas Parry Sr., and her two sons, Douglas Parry Jr., spouse Michelle and Jake Parry, spouse Amy. Six grandchild­ren and her two dogs Maggie and Annie.

She is preceded in death by her parents Art and Lena Hurt and her sister, Paula McFarland.

The services will be held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Chapel on Saturday, December 4th, 2021 at 11:00 am, with a viewing at 10:00 am. The address is 2885 S. 8th Ave, Yuma, AZ
