When you’re scoping out a project, what catches your eye? What inspires you?

We both really love to work on historic homes, so they’re our preference. We don’t always get to work on those because there’s remodels, people want renovations in all sorts of different style houses. But we really do love to work on historic homes. That would be our preference and you know, those are the ones

that really catch our eye.

We have several this year that are really, really cool and the homes themselves tell such a story. And so to be able to unveil that story of the home and then tailor it to the family that’s now living there and create a new story for the home is always really fun and there’s just so much character already built into these

homes. And so we just kind of get a chance to bring that out and highlight it. Those, I would say, are probably our favorites.

What project really jumped out for you this season?

I think that the barn we’re working on is pretty special. It’s a really old, historic barn. But we had to re-side it because there were just holes in the walls and no insulation so we had to add insulation. But we were able to preserve a lot of the original wood from the exterior of the barn and we skinned the interior walls with that wood. Dave built a door out of that and it’s just really beautiful, it’s really modern now. There’s an upstairs living space, there’s bedrooms, there’s bathrooms and we were also able to do some really fun things because they wanted sort of a unique space for their family and for when friends and family come to visit. So we got to have a lot of fun and be really creative with this one. I think it was a

good one. It was a really unique one.
