May 6, 1935 - March 8, 2023

Marilyn Jane Dance, 87, passed away peacefully in her home in Yuma, AZ on the morning of March 8th, 2023. She was born in Green Lake, Wisconsin on May 6th, 1935 to parents Milan and Lottie Klettke.

She graduated with a degree in Nursing from Madison General Hospital in 1956 and the following year, married her husband of 65 years, Robert Dance. They moved to Phoenix together and started a family before finally settling in Yuma.

Marilyn worked as an RN for 41 years, first in Wisconsin and then Arizona, retiring from YRMC as the Director of Utilization Review, Risk Management, Quality Assurance, and Case Management. Her pride came from her roles as wife, mother, grandmother, friend, hostess, advocate, and provider. Marilyn loved to travel including “codger camping” with her husband, Elderhostels with her sister, and countless slot tournaments with friends and family. She lived a very active life but was also a role model for how to enjoy simple things like watching the birds in the citrus trees or staying in for the afternoon with a book.

Marilyn is preceded in death by her parents, Milan and Lottie; sister, Kathryn Brownlow, and son John Dance.

She is survived by her husband, Robert; children, Scott (Nancy) Dance and Kathryn (Richard) Seale; daughter, in law, Julie Dance; five grandchildren: Laura (Clayton) Weyenberg, Allyson Seale, Keevan (Jeehyae) Dance, Taylor Dance, Andrew Seale, and two great grandchildren, Maryn and Lena Weyenberg.
