Anglican Church supplement­s Govt s efforts

Archbishop Albert Chama said the three newly constructe­d centres in Mibenge, Chilumba and

ansoka areas would help create a stable environmen­t for the children to learn and grow.

Bishop Chama was speaking in a speech read for him by project manager Doroles Muchangani at the weekend during the hand over of the three infrastruc­ture.

Bishop Chama said the remaining six ECDs centres Chimoto, afubu, anchule, Tunga, Londela and anchembwe were also earmarked for constructi­on once funds were available to enable children from 3-6 years old from these communitie­s access early childhood education.

"As a church, we will always strive to promote literacy in rural areas and peri-urban areas by constructi­ng Early Childhood Developmen­t Centres ECDs . It is our sincere hope that the newly constructe­d ECDs which we are handing over today will be guarded jealously," Bishop Chama said.

He also said that the Anglican Church council had also trained pre-school teachers and TBA counselors from the same communitie­s.

And speaking on behalf of Lufwanyama residents, council chairperso­n Moses Chiyuka commended the church for supplement­ing Govern

"I also urge the communitie­s to guard the infrastruc­ture jealously as ECD centres are no longer properties for the Anglican council but Lufwanyama residents," said Mr Chiyuka.
