GOTV slashes decoder prices

-

By MAILESI BANDA MULTI-CHOICE Zambia has announced a reduction in decoder prices to K199 from K360 to help viewers migrate from analogue to digital television before the digital switch on the 1st of October.

Acting managing director, Recha Kabwe said the reduction was part of the company’s commitment to allow consumers switch to the digital platform.

Speaking during the announcement of the price reduction in Lusaka, she said the company would continue to provide the viewers with quality programming for the whole family.

“As part of our commitment to assist with the digital migration in Zambia and to allow consumer’s access to digital television at a price everyone can afford we have further reduced the prices of our decoders to K199 and they come with one month’s full subscription which will provide phenomenal television channels,” she said.

Ms Kabwe noted that as part of the migration, the decoders would help allow consumers access digital television.

“As a true migration partner and as a tried and tested digital platform our decoders not only allow customers to access digital television at a price everyone could afford but it also gives them more choice and the best possible option for joining the digital television revolution, “she said.

Ms Kabwe said GOtv was already digital, adding that once customers subscribed to the television platform they would not be required any other decoder to be part of the digital migration.

She said that customers would watch local channels on the GOtv platform.

Ms Kabwe said as digital operators, they understood that content was important and that they were providing a platform that would host relevant local and international channels to cater for a variety of taste for the whole family.
