Msiska hails tennis maestro Kazembe

By MICHAEL MIYOBA Newly appointed Zambia Table Tennis Associatio­n president Wane Msiska says Zambia’s top seed Edgar Kazembe deserves the $10 000 clothing line deal as he has worked hard in the recent past.

American clothing line Ess Bee Sports has signed a $10,000 yearly deal package with Zambia’s tennis champion Kazembe.

Speaking during the signing of the deal in Lusaka Msiska said the endorsemen­t was a positive move especially that the player has brought a lot of glory to the nation.

Msiska called on other corporate entities to emulate Ess Bee Sports in contributi­ng to the developmen­t of tennis in Zambia.

“Kazembe has carried the we are proud to be associated with Ess Bee Sports in improving the sport in Zambia and if an American company can come on board I am sure even the local companies can tennis,” he said

Ess Bee Sports representa­tive Sidney Bwalya said his company was attracted to Kazembe’s good sportsmans­hip, noting that he was a role model and many kids look up to him.

Meanwhile Kazembe’s manager Gibson Phiri said the deal was very encouragin­g and timely as the player was preparing for the tennis championsh­ip in Congo Brazzavill­e.

The tournament will feature some of the best tennis players from across the African continent.
