UPND ward councillor in police custody
The opposition leader also charged that Mr Mwamba, United Party for National Development (UPND) vice president for administration could be toying with courts by pretending to have gone to South Africa for medical treatment when, in fact, he was arranging meetings for his boss Mr Hichilema to denounce the country.
Mr Tonga said that the courts should be watchful of UPND vice president for administration, Mr Mwamba and his president, Mr Hichilema whom he accused of deliberately avoiding court sessions on the pretext that they were both sick but were busy engaging in public activities.
He noted that Mr Mwamba, popularly known as GBM had been cowardly giving excuses whenever his court cases were scheduled to be heard. By VIOLET TEMBO POLICE in Mpongwe District on the Copperbelt are holding a UPND Ward councillor for allegedly setting ablaze market stalls.
Mikata Ward Councilor Crispin Tembo is alleged to have organized a mob to set ablaze grass-thatched stalls belonging to five traders at Mikata market to persuade them to relocate to a newly constructed market.
Copperbelt police commissioner Charity Katanga confirmed in an interview that the incident occurred on 27 August, 2017.
Ms Katanga said police are currently investigating the incident and have not yet
