Nkana MP spends K200, 000 on school
MORE than K200, 000 has been spent on the construction of a 1x3 classroom block at Kamakonde Primary school in Kitwe’s Nkana constituency.
School head teacher Hilary Muyoba said Member of Parliament Alexander Chiteme has spent K200, 000 of his personal money on the construction of a 1x3 classroom block at Kamakonde Primary School in Kamakonde ward.
Speaking on Sunday at Shebourne Hotel in Kitwe during the Patriotic Front (PF) media interactive forum, Mr Muyoba said he was grateful to Mr Chiteme for coming to the aid of the pupils.
“Before the construction of the classroom, pupils were learning under a tree. So, as head teacher of the school, I am grateful that Mr Chiteme came to the aid of the pupils by using his personal money to construct a classroom block,” Mr Muyoba said.
And speaking in a separate interview, Mr Chiteme said he had embarked on a number of development projects which included the construction of a bridge in Kamakonde, a shelter at a clinic in Miseshi-Mindolo and a theatre at Buchi clinic.
Mr Chiteme also contributed to the construction of the Edgar Chagwa Lungu (ECL) shelter at Chisokone Market.
He said, other projects included the construction of a slab at Green market section of Chisokone market worth K110, 000, and empowering the youts in Buchi with washing and sewing machines.
