KAMWALA BUSINESSES HELP SPUR GROWTH - COUNCILLOR

- By MUKOSELA KASALWE

KAMWALA Ward 5 has continued to partner with the business sector in the operations of development projects such as the construction of a good road network, says Patriotic Front councillor Moses Bwalya.

Mr Bwalya said the business sector in the Kamwala trading area had been of great help through their corporate social responsibility in overseeing development projects in the ward.

He expressed happiness that the businesses had continued to plough back their profits in Kamwala Ward 5 to ensure that the area did not lag behind in development.

In an interview yesterday, the civic leader said business entities had offered fuel for some trucks and graders for road works taking place in the area.

“As a ward we have continued to partner with the business community in Kamwala trading area, this collaboration is beneficial in overseeing development projects in our area. The business community has come to our aid by providing fuel for graders and trucks for the grading of roads,” Mr Bwalya said.

Mr Bwalya said the PF was walking the talk in terms of delivering development with the aim of ensuring that citizens’ livelihoods improved.

He said Kamwala Ward 5 was undergoing a facelift through numerous infrastructure works taking place in Kabwata Constituency and that the ward had benefitted from the second phase of the Lusaka (L) 400 kilometre road project.

He expressed hope that the ward would witness less floods in the rainy season following the putting up of drainages on many roads in the area.
