PF, UPND candidates confident of victory

I AM 101 percent confident of scooping the Chililalila ward by-election, says Patriotic Front (PF) candidate, Edward Phiri.
And United Party for National Developed (UPND) campaign manager for Chililalila ward by-election, Vincent Mweemba has also said the party is confident of winning the ward by-election in Kabwe. The Chililalila ward by-election takes place tomorrow, after the death of PF councillor, George Chewe in April this year.
Mr Phiri said he is sure of winning the by-election because people in the ward had assured him of their vote because they have confidence in him as their former councillor. Speaking in an interview with the Daily Nation, Mr Phiri said he was aware of the problems the people of Chililalila face having served as a councillor for the area from 2011-2016. "I’m the right candidate for Chililalila ward because I know the problems people in this area face and they know me well because I have been a councillor for the ward for two terms, I stepped aside because I wanted to stand as mayor but was not adopted," he said. Mr Phiri said once voted as area councillor would prioritise issues that were affecting people in the ward among them healthcare, water, sanitation and primary education.
And Mr Mweemba said the UPND is confident that it's candidate, Yousuf Khondowe would win the by-election because it had been on the ground campaigning door to door.
Mr Mweemba said once they scoop the seat, they would work on grading the roads and end the water blues in the ward.
