HH arrogance hindrance to dialogue

-

By SANDRA MACHIMA UNITED Party for National Development (UPND) reluctance to embrace national prayers and its leader’s Hakainde Hichilema’s continued arrogance puts in doubt the relevance of the dialogue being pushed by outsiders.

“There is no hope for progress in the so called dialogue between President Edgar Chagwa Lungu and the opposition UPND leader Hakainde Hichilema and therefore there should be no need of putting trust it because it a plastic one,” 3rd Liberation Movement party leader Enock Tonga has charged.

Mr Tonga noted that the arrogance shown by the opposition UPND during and after the release of their leader left much to be desired because of screaming statements that had been issues prior the dialogue and reconciliation process.

He described the dialogue as fake and plastic, noting that the other party appeared to be not ready for it.

“We cannot force matter in the name of dialogue when people are not ready to reconcile based on the statements that are being issued prior the reconciliation process.

The dialogue is a fake and will just waste the people of Zambia’s time on issue of interest for their benefit,” he said.

Mr Tonga maintained that Mr Hichilema was arrogant to repent and therefore such individuals should not let the Head of State to succumb to pressure, noting that some things should not be forced.

He advised the President not to trust the dialogue because the actions had it all based on the utterances shown by the UPND.

“The UPND are supposed to be humble and show to it that they are ready for genuine dialogue, otherwise formalities will not bear any desired outcomes in the interests of the Zambian people,” he said.

Mr Tonga charged that whether the opposition UPND attended the National day of prayer scheduled for next month or not, the onus was up to the Zambian people to judge for themselves who meant well for the country.

He said it would be difficult for the UPND to convince the people of Zambia to support them on grounds that they had failed to show leadership, saying Mr Hichilema was one of the difficult leader to adhere to counsels from people, hence his chances of getting power he was craving for was sliding very far from what he wanted.

He said the UPND was not the only opposition political party, saying Zambia was democratic nation with many political parties who could do better and of preference to the majority of the Zambian people.

“We have got nothing to lose with the UPND if they are not interested in being humble because we got a lot of political parties who are doing far much better than what they

(UPND) think and their arrogance will cost them,” he said.
