Massive grading of roads in Kapiri cheers DC
MASSIVE grading of roads by government in Kapiri Mposhi district is a most welcome development, says district commissioner Peter Mwiinde.
Mr Mwiinde said almost all the roads that were dilapidated due to the heavy rains experienced in the last rainy season, had now been graded by the local authority.
Speaking to the Daily Nation in an interview, Mr Mwiinde said it was government’s priority to put up a viable road infrastructure in the district as a way of improving people’s lives especially that of the farmers.
“As government, through the local authority, we have done massive grading of the roads and as Kapiri Mposhi district commissioner I am very excited about the development which is aimed at making movement of people and good much easier,” he said.
The district commissioner has also disclosed that about K10 million has been donated to the provincial administration by Kankumba Limited, a local company for the construction of Nkoye Road as part of its corporate social responsibility.
Mr Mwiinde has since assured that the money donated by the company will be accounted for, adding that it had already been deposited under the provincial administration account.
He has thanked Central Province Permanent secretary, Chanda Kabwe and Minister Sydney Mushanga for their endless efforts in developing Kapiri.
Mr Mwiinde has also commended stakeholders in Kapiri for supplementing government efforts in ensuring that the lives of people in the district were uplifted.
