YOUTHS should avoid alcohol and drug abuse and instead spend their energy to upgrade their careers, says Minister of Tourism and Arts Charles Banda.

Mr Banda also urged youths to continue serving in the church and that in doing so, they would not be used as vessels of violence or engage themselves in unproductive activities.

The minister, implored youtsh to portray themselves in an exceptional manner and desist from any immoral activity but continue participating fully in church programmes.

In a speech read for him by Kapwepwe Ward Councillor Patrick Salubusa, yesterday at Reformed Church of Zambia Lilanda congregation, at the musical festival fundraising concert, Mr Banda said he was touched with what the youth RCZ were doing and encouraged the church leadership and parents to fully support such ventures.

“My advice is that please continue serving our good Lord in this manner befitting your generation and in doing so you will receive your blessing and the good news is that you will not be used as a vessel of violence in whatever occasion may be, consumption of alcohol and drug abuse,

“To the congregation I must say that I am very touched with what the youth of this congregation have done and my advice to the church leadership and parents is that please let’s give them the full support and encourage them even more when such events are brought to our attention,” Mr Banda said.

Matero Member of Parliament Lloyd Kaziya and Mr Banda who is Kapoche MP through Mr Salubusa donated K1,000 each to the Amazing Praise Team of RCZ.
