JAY-Z PAYS MUSICAL TRIBUTE TO CHESTER BENNINGTON

-

Leave it to Jay-Z to perform one of the most emotional Live Lounges of the month so far.

The NYC rapper went into his back catalogue to perform Numb/ Encore - his collaboration with Linkin Park. He revealed to host Clara Amfo that it’s the first time since his friend Chester Bennington’s death that he has performed the track. “That felt really special,” he said, calling Chester’s death “super tragic”. “Hopefully his death serves as a wake-up call. Mental health is a real thing, you never know what people are going through,” he added. As men we have to have this bravado, armour up and be this kind of way but you have to take care of yourself, physically and spiritually. “And you think because these people are performers, money and fame doesn’t equate to happiness, it doesn’t mean anything if you’re not happy inside. “I knew him well, he was a really nice person with five kids, it was really tragic.” That’s it from us from another week.

We’ll leave you the Jay-Z’s complete Live Lounge performance from earlier today, including that emotional tribute to Linkin Park’s Chester Bennington.

Oh, and our own weekly tradition - the 5 Things We Learned This Week. Stay safe and have a top weekend. Finally today, an explanation, if not quite an apology, from Arcade Fire. Anyone with even half an eye on the arrival of the Montreal band’s latest album Everything Now couldn’t help but to have noticed that all was not what it seemed. The band sent out a relentless series of confusing tweets and fake news stories about themselves, as well as issuing bizarre requests to fans at their gigs on behalf of the fictional Everything Now Corp.-BBC
