Independent MP, PF members differ

-

By ROGERS KALERO TWO Patriotic Front (PF) members from Buntungwa ward in Chimwemwe constituency in Kitwe have accused Independent area Member of Parliament (MP) Mwila Mutale of harassing councillors and destabilising the ruling party at grass root level.

But Mr Mutale dismissed the allegations, saying they were baseless.

PF youth secretary for Buntungwa ward Sunday Kaluba and Jac son Manyi a told the Daily Nation that Mr Mutale was bringing confusion in the constituency by reportedly harassing hardwor ing councillors in the area.

Mr Kaluba claimed Mr Mutale was forcing councillors to give plots to people he had promised during the 2016 election campaigns.

"That Independent MP, Mwila Mutale is causing confusion in the constituency because he wants councillors to give plots to people he promised during election campaigns.

“Apart from harassing councillors over plots, he is also destabilising the party at grass root level. So we are not happy with his behaviour," Mr Kaluba said.

But Mr Mutale scoffed at the allegations. He said a named councillor was panic ing as he was becoming unpopular due to his questionable character.

Mr Mutale said it was utter nonsense for anybody to accuse him of harassing councillors and forcing them to give people plots.

"Those allegations don't ma e sense. If l had promised people plots, why are they not following me?’’ he as ed.
