2 TEAM UP TO PROMOTE YOUTHS, WOMEN

By CHITE MTONGA THE office of the councillor for Matero ward 28 has partnered with Youth Power Africa (YPA) Organisati­on to encourage youths and women developmen­t through enterprise in the ward.

Speaking at the official opening of a two-day conference in Lusaka, District commission­er Captain Davidson Mulenga said youths and women participat­ion in enterprise would boost economic activity in the ward and the district.

Capt. Mulenga said that Government encouraged youths and women entreprene­urship through the various ministries which had formulated policies aimed at addressing unemployme­nt in the country.

“President Lungu launched a youth policy that serves as a tool aimed at addressing various challenges that youths face, so this illustrate­s the commitment of the Patriotic Front and the President towards improving the lives of the youth and women,” Capt. Mulenga said

He commended the ward councillor and YPA for the initiative.

And Matero ward 28 councillor Annie Chinyanta said that the PF’s mandate was to develop social economic structures of the country.

Meanwhile YPA country coordinato­r Nawa Mwitumwa said that youths and women attending the conference should table their concerns during the event so that the councillor is aware of the challenges that they face.
