STOP disrespecting President Edgar Lungu because if you persist with your insults towards him, we will rise against you, Luanshya youths have told Roan Member of Parliament Chishimba Kambwili.

The youths have advised Mr Kambwili to continue giving President Edgar Lungu and his leadership the same respect he had for them when he was minister of Information and Broadcasting.

Speaking to the Daily Nation in separate interviews, the youths said they were disappointed in the manner Mr Kambwili had dealt with the issue of being fired as cabinet minister and expulsion from the party.

Mulumba ward 25 youth chairperson, Moses Sulwipa advised Mr Kambwili to stop insulting President Lungu and give him respect failure to which youths of Luanshya would rise against him.

Mr Silwipa said as youths, they were very disappointed with Mr Kambwili over his continued attacks on the head of State because every well-meaning citizen would not want to disrespect the President the way was doing.

He said Mr Kambwili should also refrain from finger-pointing because he was busy talking about corruption in government when he himself had built many flats in a place like a golf club visible to everyone.

District Youth vicetreasurer, Hillary Banda said Mr Kambwili’s attacks on President Lungu and his leadership would not help youths of Luanshya who were lacking in many areas of development.

Mr Banda said most youths were disappointed with Mr Kambwili’s behaviour towards government after being fired as cabinet minister because they looked up to him in his political career.

“Youths here in Luanshya need life skills and empowerment, these are the things our MP should be focusing on and not personal attacks because that will not help us as all,” said Mr Banda.

He said it would have made sense to every Zambian if Mr Kambwili started attacking government while still serving as minister not after being fired and expelled from the party.
