Tap into film industry potential

-

By KELVIN SIABANA A ZAMBIAN-based film producer Changa Kalumba has appealed to the business community on the Copperbelt to promote the industry for it to grow.

Mr Kalumba said the film industry was vital to the social and economic growth of the nation.

He said there was need for the business houses on the Copperbelt to invest in the film industry because the sector had potential to create job opportunities for young and old people.

Mr Kalumba said the province was instrumental in the film sector because of the many production houses that have been in existence in the area for a long time.

He said if more corporate houses came on board by sponsoring local film producers, Zambia would be a force to reckon with in the Southern African region.

Mr Kalumba said the film industry was not only beneficial to the film makers but cardinal to the nation and beyond if the industry received the much-needed support from the business world.

Mr Kalumba said the province still had untapped talent of actors and producers who should be motivated for the province to continue producing topnotch artists in the country.

He also urged Copperbelt residents to appreciate the local productions as local products were vital to the development of the sector.
