CITY of Lusaka is demanding K20, 000 refund from FAZ for the camping cost it incurred before the soccer mother body rescheduled the eek fixture against Zanaco last Sunday at Sunset Stadium.
Struggling City claim FAZ informed them at the eleventh hour and not 48 hours before as per normal requirement.
In a letter to FAZ, the club has accused the association of being unfair in the manner it handled the issue.
“We incurred costs in the postponement of the said match. The development has also angered our supporters. We are demanding K20, 000 refund from FAZ, because that is what we spent to prepare the team for the rescheduled game against Zanaco,” reads the letter in part.
They have questioned FAZ motive in postponing the match when Zanaco was willing to play.
City believe FAZ should have had a meeting with both clubs before making a last minute decision.
“In this issue our interest has not been protected as in all fairness ZANACO FC was ready to play as quoted in the public media. We are therefore wondering what the motive was on the part of FAZ to postpone the said match,” it reads
The club has since demanded for FAZ to give compounding reasons for the last minute postponement.
“We are hopeful that you will share with us the compounding and militating reasons surrounding the decision to postpone the said match,” the letter reads
