PF provincial indaba set for Kabompo

-

By JACKSON MAPAPAYI THE ruling Patriotic Front (PF) elections committee has announced that the provincial convention for North-western provincial which is slated for this month end will be held in Kabompo district.

Speaking when he addressed party officials in Manyinga, committee member Steven Masumba said the party had chosen Kabompo because it is more central.

Mr Masumba explained that the decision was arrived at after wider consultations.

‘’So, there is nothing sinister about it, but the whole idea is because Kabompo is more central than any other district, he said.

And Mr Masumba has announced that elections for constituency and district executive committees would start on Wednesday in all the districts.

He said the elections committee would now be on the ground to ensure that elections were conducted from the constituency and district levels.

A provincial convention would then be held later, he added.

He said in a quest to produce credible leadership, the party’s committee would be very honest with the relevant authorities.

‘’We will be honest to extent where we shall report even those that are using under hand methods.

“It is very clear that if you are in good standing with the party you deserve to be in the party.

“And to be in good standing with the party is to exhibit high level of royalty to President Edgar Lungu because we only have one president,” he said.
