PF pro­vin­cial ind­aba set for Kabompo

By JACK­SON MAPAPAYI THE rul­ing Pa­tri­otic Front (PF) elec­tions com­mit­tee has an­nounced that the pro­vin­cial con­ven­tion for North-western pro­vin­cial which is slated for this month end will be held in Kabompo district.

Speak­ing when he ad­dressed party of­fi­cials in Manyinga, com­mit­tee mem­ber Steven Ma­sumba said the party had cho­sen Kabompo be­cause it is more cen­tral.

Mr Ma­sumba ex­plained that the de­ci­sion was ar­rived at after wider con­sul­ta­tions.

‘’So, there is noth­ing sin­is­ter about it, but the whole idea is be­cause Kabompo is more cen­tral than any other district, he said.

And Mr Ma­sumba has an­nounced that elec­tions for con­stituency and district ex­ec­u­tive com­mit­tees would start on Wed­nes­day in all the districts.

He said the elec­tions com­mit­tee would now be on the ground to en­sure that elec­tions were con­ducted from the con­stituency and district lev­els.

A pro­vin­cial con­ven­tion would then be held later, he added.

He said in a quest to pro­duce cred­i­ble lead­er­ship, the party’s com­mit­tee would be very hon­est with the rel­e­vant author­i­ties.

‘’We will be hon­est to ex­tent where we shall re­port even those that are us­ing un­der hand meth­ods.

“It is very clear that if you are in good stand­ing with the party you de­serve to be in the party.

“And to be in good stand­ing with the party is to ex­hibit high level of roy­alty to Pres­i­dent Edgar Lungu be­cause we only have one pres­i­dent,” he said.
