India pledges to support Zambia
INDIA has assured Zambia of continued support on its path to improve the quality of lives of the Zambian people.
Ministry of External Affairs director for East and Southern Africa division Mohit Yadav said India held Zambia in high esteem as the two countries worked well during the preand post-independence era.
Mr Yadav congratulated Zambia for attaining 53 years of peace and 53 years of friendly relations with his country.
Mr Yadav was speaking at Zambia uhuru day celebrations at the residence of Zambia’s high commissioner to India, Judith Kapijimpanga, in New Delhi, India, on Tuesday night
“India stands ready to support Zambia in all developmental activities such as infrastructure, trade, health, education, science, communications and technology,” he said.
And Ms Kapijimpanga said Zambia wanted to do more with India in transforming the lives of citizens.
Meanwhile, a 100-paged coffee table book was launched detailing 53 years of IndiaZambia relations as well as highlights on investment opportunities in Zambia.
Ms Kapijimpanga said the book, which was part of the High Commission’s communication strategy, had been produced by India empire magazine at no cost to the mission.
“The book has a wealth of information on health, education, infrastructure, trade, and tourism among others,” said Ms Kapijimpanga.
