meetings, an Musenge's clandestine exercise in futility

- By SIMON MUNTEMBA

MWENYA Musenge’s efforts of organising secret meetings in Lusaka targeting PF members in an attempt to destabilise the ruling party is an exercise in futility, the Patriotic Front has said.

And PF media director Sunday Chanda said expelled PF members, Chishimba Kambwili and Mr Musenge should not think that building a political party was an easy thing.

He was reacting to National Democratic Congress party (NDC) secretary-general Musenge’s report that he was organising secret meetings in Lusaka targeting PF members to destabilise the ruling party.

Impeccable sources have disclosed that Mr Musenge was organising some clandestine meetings with some PF members in a bid to destabilise the PF.

Mr Chanda told the Daily Nation yesterday that his party was aware that Mr Kambwili and Mr Musenge were targeting the fainthearted PF members but warned them that they will not succeed.

“We are aware that Kambwili and Musenge's party, NDC, is targeting the faint-hearted within PF to form structures. We can even do a headcount of those they have been talking to but of course among these are people who are seeing and reporting to us every step that Kambwili and Musenge are taking,” he said.

Mr Chanda added,” They can be assured that whenever they hold their meetings, we are in attendance, very present and we shall have the last laugh.”

Mr Chanda said while PF was focusing on organisational renewal with all its structures going for elections effective June 1, 2018, scavenger parties like NDC will be fighting for the crumbs and bones.

He reiterated that PF was building quality structures and reaching out for quality recruitment from society at large and indeed from opposition parties with life presidents.

Mr Chanda also said that the PF was itching to put Mr Kambwili to test in the Roan by-election.
