Kambwili dossier … opposition demand police action

- By MUKOSELA KASALWE

WE expect police to act on the dossier on Chishimba Kambwili presented to them by politician, Chilufya Tayali, opposition leaders and civic activists have demanded.

“Chishimba Kambwili is having a taste of his own medicine for branding other people as corrupt without bringing forth any form of proof and while he forgot to remove the speck in his own eye,” Evangelical Youth Alliance executive director, reverend Moses Lungu said.

“In the recent past, Chishimba Kambwili has been the loudest anti-corruption campaign crusader but he has never been clean of the scourge,” says Third Liberation Movement president Enock Tonga.

Mr Tonga said Third Liberation Movement (3LM) commended Mr Tayali for taking such a bold move and expressed satisfaction that that was how a responsible citizen needed to act unlike Mr Kambwili who has been accusing his colleagues of corruption without any evidence.

Commenting on the development yesterday, the opposition leader said the Roan lawmaker had never been clean of corrupt activities.

Mr Tonga implored law enforcement agencies to study and investigate the evidence brought before them.

“As a party we are aware that Chishimba Kambwili has been so vocal on issues of corruption but he has never been clean although he has been the loudest shouting anti-corruption slogans and defaming his colleagues without any form of proof whatsoever,” he said.

Evangelical Youth Alliance executive director, reverend Moses Lungu said Mr Kambwili was simply having a taste of his own medicine for branding several people as corrupt without bringing forth any form of proof and while he forgot to remove a speck in his own eye.

And New Congress Party leader pastor Peter Chanda challenged Mr Kambwili to exonerate himself by following the due process of the law.

Pastor Chanda said New Congress Party (NCP) would closely follow the matter to its sound conclusion and affirmed that Mr Kambwili was innocent until proven otherwise by the court.

He said he has since directed his party Secretary General to engage lawyers who would facilitate legal proceedings against known people disparaging innocent people of being corrupt and being alarmists.
