Embrace prodigal sons, PF urged
By CHIKUMBI KATEBE
THE Patriotic Front party should have an open door policy for all its ‘prodigal children’ in memory of the legacy of the founding father, Michael Chilufya Sata.
Youth leader Julius Komaki said the only way the ruling party could remember Mr Sata would be to promote his legacy, the principles and values he stood for in the development of Zambia.
He said the PF Members of the Central Committee must have an open door policy to ensure they embraced all party members that had strayed away after Mr Sata died, as well as all those coming to the party from other political parties.
“Even Mr Sata himself was a member of another political party before he formed the PF, but he embraced everybody that joined him from other parties to form the PF,
“When he was alive, he used to get people from UPND, MMD, even FDD to come on board as long as they had the potential and the caliber to contribute to the development of the nation,” he said.
Mr Komaki said Mr Sata had showed the way by embracing other people who wanted to come into the party without looking at tribe or any ethnic view: he opened up the window for political desert- ers so to allow new members to join and old members to return to the “boat”.
“The PF boat is very big, it can accommodate each and every one, so even those people who are coming now we need to embrace them because we only have one Zambia which we need to develop,
“Even these people who have showed interest in the ruling party, the likes of Chishimba Kambwili who has come for the memorial service for Mr Sata that is a sign of reconciliation. Let him come on board, he is very welcome because as young people, we fought for him to be part of the boat,” Mr Komaki said.N He explained that if Mr Kambili and any other persons felt they liked PF so much, let them come back with the acceptance that the party leadership has changed
“If he likes this party very much let him come, and let us also understand that the administration of Michael Sata is different from the admiration of Edgar Chagwa Lungu, but we are following the principles of the Patriotic Front party and the party manifesto,” he said.
He has since appealed to the youths in the party to be tolerant and heed to the silent voice of the party founding father, Mr Sata in his song “tutemwane bane bonse”.
