B1, BIZZY WIZZY LAUDS PROMOTER FOR UK INDEPENDENCE GIG
RBy TERENCE MISELO ENOWNED club DJ Bismark Tembo aka Bizzy Wizzy and musician B1 have commended efforts made by organisers for the UK Independence bash that was graced by 13 Zambian artistes on October 28 in East London.
Organised by L.N Creations, a UK-based Zambian focused on fashion and beauty, in collaboration with other sponsors, the show was specifically organized to help Zambians based in the United Kingdom as well as other Zambian music lovers and guests celebrate Zambia’s 53rd Independence.
Speaking in interview after the successful and soldout event held at the Royal Regency, DJ Bizzy said it was one of the greatest shows he has ever performed at outside Zambia. The music spinner who has travelled widely to promote Zambian entertainment specifically music said the show was a huge success and organisers must be commended for their great effort.
“Being the only DJ amongst the many artistes that were called for the event, I must say I had a great responsibility. I am very happy that we delivered to our best and the guests were very happy with the event. It is a big plus to the organisers. This is one thing that is helping our local artistes to work very hard,” said Bizzy.
Meanwhile, B1 has urged Zambians not to undermine people who are contributing to the development of the music industry. The ‘Suit’ singer said it was sad that even after the promoters did their very best to invite 13 artistes and accord them special treatment, some Zambians found something negative to say about the show.
“One promoter inviting 13 big artistes, big venue sold out, flew Emirates, expensive hotel (Hilton) each artiste with own room, Limo ride to the venue, artistes paid upfront before we even left Zed, promoter this time pays more than any other in the history of Zed events in the diaspora, but some people back still find something negative to write about the show and the promoter, really!!” wondered B1.
“Sometimes I feel there is a deliberate move to suppress and undermine Zed music by our own people.”
Apart from B1 and Bizzy Wizzy, other artistes that performed at the independence gig included JK, SlapDee, Mampi, Chef 187, Macky2, Raydo, Afunika, Dalisoul, Kay Figo, Kapembwa and Kayster of the Tilowa fame and Nasty D.
