By lSCAo MAiIPbNdA STATE House will be a “battle field” should Patriotic Front EPF) cadres attempt to disrupt our mobilization meeting next weekend, National aemocratic Congress ENaC) secretary general Mwenya Musenge has vowed.
By OSCAR MALIPENGA STATE House will be the “battle field” should Patriotic Front (PF) cadres attempt to disrupt our mobilisation meeting next weekend, National Democratic Congress (NDC) secretary general Mwenya Musenge has warned.
Mr Musenge has warned PF cadres that his members will definitely match them should they attempt to promote violence during the NDC mobilisation meetings slated for Lusaka.
On Tuesday, PF Lusaka Province youth chairman Kennedy Kamba warned Mr Musenge to be peaceful and follow the law during the planned NDC mobilisation meeting to avoid fanning confusion and intimidating residents.
Mr Kamba also warned that if Mr Musenge wanted to bring confusion in Lusaka by insulting President Edgar Lungu, youths in Lusaka particularly from PF will defend their party leader, government and the residents.
But Mr Musenge said if PF youths wanted to promote violence they were free to do so.
“…But one thing I can assure them is that if that is the route they want to go, we will definitely match them,” Mr Musenge said.
He however said NDC was a very mature party and that if there was one thing that they really wanted to terminate in society and politics was violence,, adding that NDC does not support violence.
“…And for us the battle field will not be anywhere else it will be at State House. It will be at State House because then we will know that whatever Kennedy Kamba and his cadres will be doing will be with the blessing of their party President Edgar Chagwa Lungu and therefore we want to go for them at State House.
“So that is what we are saying because you see we do not need to promote anarchy or violence in our country I mean “fiko” meaning it is dirty. I have always stated that this country is a multiparty dispensation and each and every political party as long as it is legally registered has got the right to exist, and the right to play its own politics,” Mr Musenge said.
