MP MWILA, PF CADRES DIFFER

-

By ROGERS KALERO CHIMWEMWE constituency Member of Parliament (MP) Mwila Mutale has been urged to focus on fulfilling his campaign promises instead of fighting with councillors and destabilising the ruling party.

But Mr Mutale said he had no time to waste on responding to youths who had been hired to insult him by hopeless and disgruntled politicians.

Mr Mwila was reacting to Patriotic Front (PF) Buntungwa ward cadres who said the MP should concentrate on fulfilling his campaign promises instead of fighting with councillors.

PF Buntungwa ward youth secretary Sunday Kaluba said Mr Mutale should not fight councillors or engage in activities that would destabilise the ruling party in Chimwemwe, but should find better ways of fulfilling his campaign promises.

Mr Sunday said Mr Mutale had lamentably failed to set the stage for developmental projects and initiatives to help improve the welfare of the youth in the area because he was more preoccupied with fighting political battles in the area.

"Mr Mutale is the MP for Chimwemwe so we expect him to prove himself by delivering on his campaign promises. He is an Independent MP and so he should not destabilize the PF structures in the area, he should also not fight councilors.

"As PF, we don't have anything to do with him, and so, he shouldn't have anything to do with us. He should leave us alone. He should focus on proving himself that he is an MP who can deliver on his campaign promises," Mr Kaluba said.

Mr Kaluba said Mr Mutale had failed to provide leadership from the time he was elected MP, saying PF aspiring candidate for Chimwemwe ward Dan Makina would have made a better MP than Mr Mutale.

"Dan Makina would have made a better MP than Mwila Mutale because Makina is a better organiser and has leadership qualities. For me, I think Mwila Mutale has failed to provide leadership from the time he became MP,” he said.

But Mr Mutale said he had no time to waste talking to the youths.

"I can't respond to such nonsense. It is utter rubbish. It is a waste of time responding to youths who have been hired to insult or attack me in the media," Mr Mutale said.
