Emulate PF tolerance, UPND told

-

By SIMON MUNTEMBA THE opposition UPND should emulate the tolerance exhibited by the ruling Patriotic Front (PF) which allowed them to freely carryout their card renewal exercise in its stronghold without interruptions, PF Mandevu constituency Secretary Lemmy Bwalya has said.

On Sunday the UPND successfully had card renewal exercise in Mandevu constituency one of the strong hold for PF.

Mr Bwalya told the Daily Nation that it was imperative that the tolerance of PF leadership in Mandevu constituency should be replicated by the UPND which is fond of harassing PF members in its strongholds.

"The UPND conducted their card renewal exercise in our stronghold peacefully, but that should not be misinterpreted to be a victory for them no. We want to show them that we have one country and that country is Zambia and Zambians should enjoy being in their country regardless of the area they may discover themselves in.

"The tolerance of PF leadership in Mandeville constituency should be replicated by UPND which does not allow any body to put on PF regalia in Southern Province," Mr Bwalya said.

He said it was high time Zambians should gauge the leaders and condemn them if at all they don't seem to be pioneers of peace and love.

Mr Bwalya added that it was important for other political leaders to emulate President Edgar Lungu who has demonstrated love to all Zambians through massive infrastructural development even to regions where he got least votes.

He said it was sad that it had become a trend for the UPND not to allow PF members to either carryout their party activities or put on PF regalia in some parts of southern province where UPND enjoy support.

Mr Bwalya said as a democratic party, PF will continue to respect the law.

He stated that Zambians appreciates the robust developments that the PF led government has embarked on.

"As PF from Mandevu Constituency, the most hardworking constituency in Zambia, we are happy to see each corner of the country receiving the equal consideration of development regardless the votes PF and the President received from these areas," he said.

He said the next elections will be the easiest one for the PF, for it has delivered on many of its campaign promises.
